We have an excellent cross-section of talented, emerging designers working with us this year. From Industrial, Textile, Sound, Graphic, Interior, furniture and New Media. Each person was asked which word (Suggest, Salvage, Skip and Bind) meant the most to them in terms of design which allowed us to split them into four small groups. Using this simple word as a platform each group had workshopped for the past four months to nut out a brief and create works.
Each group had the invaluable opportunity of working with an established designer as an unbiased mentor. When working with so many designers of very different backgrounds the role of the mentor was to tease out the ideas from each artist. To encourage them to think laterally and then bring it back together as a coherent show.

Current Project : Bind : The Group came to think of Bind as an underlying and fundamental link between people and bojects. Both physical and mental; a connection that transcends age, time, place and reason.
This project seeks to explore and challenge traditional ideas of how we sit, how we play and instrument, how we interact with our space, objects and each other. The pieces are realised via graphics, product, sound and furniture.
